ÉCRU
Ecru Vintage Store in Ortigia is a small, thoughtfully curated boutique tucked into the island’s winding streets. It feels quiet and intentional, with a soft, timeless aesthetic where each piece is chosen for its character and story rather than trend. A space that feels more like discovery than shopping, echoing the understated elegance of Ortigia itself.
LAGHETTI
LAGHETTI is a small shop located on the beautiful island of Ortigia close to the Duomo. They are always on the lookout for unique items created by local brands or sourced from all over the world. They deeply value natural products and designs that promote a sustainable lifestyle.
WHERE TO EAT
CHIODO
When you step into its intimate courtyard from the central Via Roma, Chiodo reveals itself as an atelier of wonders where cuisine, wine, and craftsmanship take center stage. From this new season on they serve also breakfast.
Originally founded in 2015 as a creative workshop by artisan artists Alessia Genovese and Alessandra Di Grande, founder of the Ferrodolce brand, Chiodo evolved in 2019 into a unique “showroom with a kitchen.” The transformation reflects a dream: to create a multifunctional space dedicated to showcasing the finest expressions of Sicilian excellence.
L'OSTERIA DI SEBY
Located right in my cortile, L’Osteria di Seby is a warm, authentic Sicilian restaurant set in a hidden courtyard in the heart of Ortigia. It’s a place where local flavours, seasonal ingredients, and honest cooking come together in a relaxed, intimate setting. Perfect for a long lunch or slow dinner surrounded by the rhythm of the island.
In the evenings, the courtyard transforms into something almost magical—soft light, slow dinners, and the feeling of being part of a quiet, living Sicilian scene.

A beautiful location where you have an amazing view over the sea. A special spot for lunch, dinner or for an amazing sundown.

At the market in the side streets, you’ll find our favorite local street food fish spot—the little pink place with the best tuna burger in town.
OFFICINA 77
‘Officina 77’, locally known as Le Romane—a nickname it earned thanks to its Roman founders—offers a laid-back, warung-style experience. Choose from a colorful spread of vegetables, meats, or dive into their outstanding pasta and pizza.

BAR VIOLA
Located on Corso Matteotti in the heart of Ortigia, Bar Viola is a beloved local spot with a modern interior, known for its excellent coffee, creamy gelato, and classic Sicilian granita served with a soft brioche. Frequented by locals, it’s a perfect place to enjoy a true taste of everyday life in Syracuse.
PASTICCERIA NUOVA DOLCERIA
Just over the bridge on Corso Umberto in Siracusa, you'll find Nuova Dolceria—an essential stop for anyone seeking a quality coffee break. Well known for its excellent espresso and irresistible dolci, it’s a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
TINKITÈ
Tinkitè is a small, atmospheric for coffee, wine and cocktail bar tucked into the streets of Ortigia. It has a relaxed, intimate energy, low lighting, good music, and a focus on simple, well-made drinks with a Sicilian touch.
It’s the kind of place that feels effortless to drop into: for a late glass of wine, a quiet aperitivo, or an unplanned evening that slowly stretches into the night.
CORRADO
Corrado is a relaxed, unpretentious spot in Ortigia with a warm, local feel and simple, honest food. It’s the kind of place that fits effortlessly into the rhythm of the day.
You can start your morning here with ease, or return later for a simple aperitivo as the day slows down, always with that stunning view as the backdrop.
NATURE
ORTIGIA
In Ortigia, you'll find three small spots for a refreshing swim. Forte Vigliena, also known as 'The Rocks,' is a favorite during high season when a platform is installed for sunbathing and sea access, best enjoyed in the morning or early afternoon. Cala Rossa beach shares similar sun hours. For late afternoon sun, head to Spiaggetta della Marina on the opposite side of the island, a quieter spot ideal for a swim.
FONTANE BIANCHI
Just 15 km south of Syracuse, Fontane Bianche is a coastal treasure famous for its stunning white sand beach and crystal-clear turquoise waters. The beach spans around 1.2 km and gets its name from the freshwater springs that flow along its shoreline, creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere.
OASI DEL GELSOMINETO
Oasi del Gelsomineto is a peaceful coastal haven located near Cassibile, just south of Syracuse. Known for its soft white sand, crystal-clear waters, and the protective pine forest that borders its shores, this beach offers a tranquil escape. In Summer there is only a little bar, out of season you need to bring your own lunch.
PLEMMIRIO
The Plemmirio Marine Reserve offers crystal-clear waters and 35 access points along the coast. For swimming and sunbathing, Varco 23 is a popular entry with easy access to the sea. While no subscription is needed for a swim, activities like diving or boating require a permit, available via the official Plemmirio website.
