When you step into its intimate courtyard from the central Via Roma, Chiodo reveals itself as an atelier of wonders—where design, cuisine, wine, and craftsmanship take center stage. From this new season on they serve also breakfast.
Originally founded in 2015 as a creative workshop by artisan artists Alessia Genovese and Alessandra Di Grande, founder of the Ferrodolce brand, Chiodo evolved in 2019 into a unique “showroom with a kitchen.” The transformation reflects a dream: to create a multifunctional space dedicated to showcasing the finest expressions of Sicilian excellence.

Just over the bridge on Corso Umberto in Siracusa, you'll find Nuova Dolceria—an essential stop for anyone seeking a quality coffee break. Well known for its excellent espresso and irresistible dolci, it’s a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

ORTIGIA
In Ortigia, you'll find three small spots for a refreshing swim. Forte Vigliena, also known as 'The Rocks,' is a favorite during high season when a platform is installed for sunbathing and sea access — best enjoyed in the morning or early afternoon. Cala Rossa beach shares similar sun hours. For late afternoon sun, head to Spiaggetta della Marina on the opposite side of the island, a quieter spot ideal for a swim.
FONTANE BIANCHI
Just 15 km south of Syracuse, Fontane Bianche is a coastal treasure famous for its stunning white sand beach and crystal-clear turquoise waters. The beach spans around 1.2 km and gets its name from the freshwater springs that flow along its shoreline, creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere.
OASI DEL GELSOMINETO
Oasi del Gelsomineto is a peaceful coastal haven located near Cassibile, just south of Syracuse. Known for its soft white sand, crystal-clear waters, and the protective pine forest that borders its shores, this beach offers a tranquil escape. In Summer there is only a little bar, out of season you need to bring your own lunch.
PLEMMIRIO
The Plemmirio Marine Reserve offers crystal-clear waters and 35 access points along the coast. For swimming and sunbathing, Varco 23 is a popular entry with easy access to the sea. While no subscription is needed for a swim, activities like diving or boating require a permit, available via the official Plemmirio website.
